I did it. No, I didn’t actually go through with a juice cleanse yet. But I did give into the temptation and ordered my The 3-Day Cleanse by the makers of the BluePrintCleanse. BluePrintCleanse is best known for its fresh pressed, raw juices AND their extravagant prices. I couldn’t justify $200 for three days worth of delivered juices (my boyfriend would kill me). Instead, I only spent $6.90 on the book (available on Amazon) and approximately $35 in produce. My mother has also generously donated her juicer ($100 value). #ballinonabudget
I’m a bit nervous because I’m not quite sure what to expect. The cleanse is designed to get rid of toxins in your body.
One review on Amazon reads:
I also think they should have gone more in depth with the side effects you will experience while detoxifying. I got a weird rash all over my arms from the toxins coming to the surface reacting with the sun. My doctor prescribed Betamethasone cream which worked, and I realized when I exercised my arms also felt better because the sweat was helping remove the toxins from my skin.
Toxins coming to the surface?!?! SCARY! In fact, skin eruptions (NOTE: “eruption” is never a good word to use when marketing your products) is a common symptom listed on their website. I guess the benefits outweigh the unfortunate symptoms associated with a detox.
What benefits may you ask?
Boosts immune system
Improves thyroid function
Provides rest for the digestive organs
Encourages physical rejuvenation
Promotes normalized weight
Promotes normalized blood pressure
Reverses signs of aging
Elevates mood and sex drive
Alleviates symptoms of PMS
Promotes clear skin <- I think they mean *after* the cleanse
Suppresses Fibromyalgia symptoms
BONUS: Lose five pounds (Apparently every review includes that they lost five pounds and never gained it back)
I’ve crossed checked these possible benefits with reviews and they seem to be spot-on. I guess they’re not bluffing.
I’m planning to start the cleanse on August 8th, which is just before I leave on vacation to Puerto Rico. If you’re considering doing the cleanse too, check out this blogger’s review. Cheers to a new beginning!
